Back home again following a week away. This Meander was in two part’s really. First was a few days in Lancaster to celebrate Mrs M’s birthday, followed by a drive up to Scotland where we spent a few days.
Now this was not a random trip!
Mrs M had organised a memorial for her mother who, nearly two years ago, passed away in Egypt.
Due to circumstance we were not able to repatriate her, so not able to have any real closure following her passing.
Mrs M, god love her, managed to put together a memorial evening getting family together as far apart as New Zealand.
Why Scotland, well that’s where she was born and raised. Where her family still live, where the people who knew her still live. Where her memories are.
The evening itself went amazingly with everyone coming together to celebrate life of Mrs M’s mother. We celebrated in one of the local bowling clubs in the village she she grew up with her sisters and family.
I do love visiting Scotland. There is something special about the place. Don’t know why but I always feel at home when I am there.
God bless and rest in peace.
